The Brain Injury Association of Ohio Lending Library has an extensive collection of books and media covering brain injury and related topics.  The materials listed below relate specifically to brain injury and/or caregiving topics and are available to the public for check out from our state and regional offices.

109.1 Living with Brain Injury: A Guide for Families   A guide for dealing with the changes in a loved one who has survived a brain injury.  Aims to help with the newest medicines and treatments available. Includes anatomy, injury, symptoms, rehabilitation, treatment, family, and future sections.
138 Why Did It Happen on A School Day?   Written from the perspective of a young boy whose father has sustained a brain injury. It is an excellent tool for helping children understand what is happening to a parent with a brain injury and the subsequent recovery process. Written in simple language and supplemented by childlike illustrations, this book is geared toward children and is an important communications device for the entire family.
435 Ketchup on the Baseboard   Tells the personal story of the authors' family’s journey after her son, Tim, sustained a brain injury. Chronicling his progress over more than 20 years, she describes the many stages of his recovery along with the complex emotions and changing dynamics of her family and their expectations. More than a personal story, the book contains a collection of articles written by Carolyn as a national columnist for newsletters and journals on brain injury.

754 The Magic of Humor in Caregiving   Part of the Caregiver Survival Series by James R. Sherman, Ph.D, this volume focuses on the importance of humor in caregiving activities and its positive impacts on the relationships between caregivers and recipients.
