Candle Giving Campaign for the Holidays

BIAOH’s Holiday Giving Campaign
December 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009

Track Campaign Progress - Click Here

This holiday’s annual giving campaign was inspired by Ellen Thompson, whose brother, Brett experienced a brain injury.  Like many families impacted by brain injury, Ellen wanted to give back and provide encouragement to others who have or will experience the life-altering consequences of brain injury.  And, she wanted to offer a tribute to her brother, who as she said, “did fight his way back to us”.

Ellen’s letter (see below) seeking contributions to BIAOH’s annual holiday giving campaign was mailed to just under 3000 individuals who, we have reason to believe, may want to work in conjunction with BIAOH to improve awareness, services and supports, prevention and research benefiting children and adults with brain injury.

The contributions, along with the (paper) tribute candles are coming in.  As they do, we hang them on the door and windows at BIAOH’s State Office.  By the end of January, we hope to raise $15,000.  In addition to the financial support received through the campaign, staff and volunteers at BIAOH’s State and Community Support Network offices (see map and roster of their locations) are inspired by the tributes and inspirational messages that arrive along with the donations.  (See a listing of those commemorated, contributors and their messages below.)

The candle tracks BIAOH’s progress toward reaching its goal of raising $15,000 through the campaign by the end of January 2009.  We invite you to make a gift to the holiday campaign.  Your candle and contribution will help light up the lives of the individual(s) you recognize, and empower BIAOH to advance its mission.  (Print off contribution materials below.)
