Brain Injury Awareness Month: Learn, Share, Advocate

Brain injury is more common than you think—1 in 4 Ohioans has experienced at least one traumatic brain injury (TBI) in their lifetime. Yet, many people remain unaware of the risks, the lasting effects, and the critical services available to support survivors. Brain injuries can change lives in an instant, affecting memory, emotions, mobility, and overall well-being. By raising awareness, we can improve understanding, reduce stigma, and ensure that those affected get the support they need.

Throughout March—Brain Injury Awareness Month, we’re sharing four weeks of powerful content to help educate, inspire, and spark change. Each week focuses on a unique theme, with posts and graphics you can use and share to spread awareness.

Share Your Brain Injury Story for Brain Injury Awareness Month

During Brain Injury Awareness Month, we’re collecting short video stories from survivors and caregivers to help others understand what life after brain injury really looks like—what changed, what’s been hardest, what helped, and what support you wish you’d had.

Recording is simple: you’ll answer a few prompts right from your phone or computer—nothing to download or install—and you can re-record as many times as you’d like before submitting. With your permission, these stories will be used to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen advocacy for better services and supports across Ohio.
