Join us for Brain Injury Awareness Day - March 12, 2026

at the Ohio Statehouse

Advocacy Day is an opportunity for brain injury survivors, caregivers, family members, and supporters to come together and share their stories with Ohio’s policymakers. Lived experience is powerful—and when our community speaks, change happens.

Whether you are new to advocacy or have shared your story before, Advocacy Day offers a supportive space to learn, connect, and help educate decision-makers about the real-world impact of brain injury. You don’t need to be an expert in policy—your experiences, challenges, and hopes are what matter most.

Together, we will raise awareness, strengthen understanding, and advocate for policies that improve services, supports, and outcomes for Ohio’s brain injury community. You are not alone in this work—and your voice can help shape a better future.

We will be hosting virtual advocacy day training:

Voices in Action: Advocacy Training for Brain Injury Awareness - February 19, 2026 - 12:00 pm - via Zoom

This training prepares participants for Brain Injury Awareness Day by walking through what to expect at the Statehouse, how meetings with legislators typically unfold, and how the legislative process works. Attendees will also review BIAOH’s key talking points so they feel informed, confident, and ready for the day.

This session will be recorded and will be available to those that cannot attend live.

Find your Legislators

We have compiled a template that you can use to send to your legislators to share your story and help support the increase in funding.

When emailing:

• Ohio state representatives use the email format rep(district number)@ohiohouse.gov.

For example, Representative James Hoops represents District 81, so his email is rep81@ohiohouse.gov

• Ohio senators use the email format LastName@ohiosenate.gov.

For example, Senator Rob McColley email is mccolley@ohiosenate.gov
